Suketu Mehta

Born in Calcutta, Suketu Mehta lived in Bombay until the age of fourteen, when he immigrated to the United States in 1977. He returned to Bombay for two years in 1998 to write his sweeping portrait of the city, Maximum City: Bombay Lost and Found. Mehta is currently at work on a nonfiction book about immigrants living in New York City.
