Richard Selzer

(1928 - 2016)

After more than thirty-five years teaching and practicing surgery at Yale University, Richard Selzer pursued a second career as a writer of fiction and nonfiction, drawing on his long experience in medicine for the body of his work. Among his fifteen books are Mortal Lessons, The Doctor Stories, and Knife Song Korea.
