Inge Müller

(1925 - 1966)

Inge Müller was born in Berlin in 1925, served in the Reich Labor Service, and was drafted into the Women’s Auxiliary Services of the Wehrmacht in 1945. Her parents died in an Allied bombing raid at the end of the war. After working as a journalist and marrying a circus administrator, she met playwright Heiner Müller, later her second husband, with whom she collaborated on plays. She committed suicide with an overdose of sleeping pills in 1966.
