Dorothy B. Hughes

(1904 - 1993)

Born in Kansas City in 1904, Dorothy B. Hughes wrote a book of poetry and a history of New Mexico before turning to fiction, publishing fourteen crime novels and an Edgar Award–winning biography of the author of the Perry Mason series. Her books include Ride the Pink Horse, In a Lonely Place, and The Expendable Man.
