Antoniotto Usodimare

Born into a seagoing merchant family from Genoa, Antoniotto Usodimare explored the West African coast with funds from the Portuguese prince Henry the Navigator. In 1942 an Italian destroyer named Antoniotto Usodimare was accidentally sunk by an Italian submarine.
