Ida M. Tarbell
(1857 - 1944)
Three years after Ida M. Tarbell moved to Paris to study at the Sorbonne, she was hired to write for McClure’s Magazine. She published her nineteen-part History of the Standard Oil Company in the magazine. Of the men of Standard Oil, she wrote, “They had never played fair, and that ruined their greatness for me.”
