Geoffrey Philp

Born in 1958 in Kingston, Jamaica, Geoffrey Philp has published one novel and five volumes of poetry. “When I was growing up, reggae and Rastafari were synonymous,” the author said in 2016. “ They were anti-colonialist, anti-imperialist, and at their core held an Afrocentric worldview that was inspired by Marcus Garvey.” Philp immigrated to Miami in 1979 and has lived there since.
