Iain Pears

Trained as an art historian, Iain Pears is the author of a series of mystery books that feature an intrepid art historian, Jonathan Argyll, as their protagonist. An Instance of the Fingerpost, published in 1998, presents four characters’ conflicting versions of events surrounding the murder of an Oxford don. His most recent novels are Arcadia and Stone’s Fall.
