Jean-Antoine-François Ozanam

(1773 - 1837)

The French physician and author Jean-Antoine-François Ozanam published the five-volume The General Medical History of Contagious Diseases Which Reigned in Europe from Remote Times and Notably from the Fourteenth Century to Our Days in 1817. He and his wife had fourteen children; only three sons survived. One was the Catholic literary scholar and journalist Antoine Frédéric Ozanam, who founded the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
