Myron H. Thompson

Myron H. Thompson grew up in Tuskegee, Alabama, and was diagnosed with polio at the age of two. He fully recovered; went to Yale, where he received a JD and a BA; and became the second black judge to join the federal bench in Alabama when President Jimmy Carter nominated him in 1980. He was only thirty-three at the time and, decades later, is still serving.
