Ma Duanlin

(c. 1254 - c. 1323)

The Chinese historian and government minister Ma Duanlin is best known for writing the 348-volume encyclopedia General Study of the Literary Remains. Intended as a moral guide to statecraft following the Mongol invasion of China, it became a model for many future historians of China.
