Sebastian Junger

Junger centered his work of nonfiction The Perfect Storm on the disappearance of the Andrea Gail, a 72-foot swordfish boat, during the collision of three storm systems in the Atlantic Ocean in October 1991. He spent the following three winters working on the book while living in his parents’ summer house on Cape Cod. About his working method while there, he said, “The deal I made with myself is that if you are at the desk working, you can turn the heat on.” Junger published War in 2010, and has made two documentary films chronicling the war in Afghanistan.
