Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller

(c. 1950 - 2011)

Working primarily for Atlantic Records, the duo of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller was perhaps the most successful songwriting and producing team of the 1950s. Among their hits are “Hound Dog,” the novelty story-song “Yakety Yak”; “Stand by Me”; and numerous hits for Elvis Presley, including “Jailhouse Rock” and “Love Me.” The pair was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Leiber died in 2011.
