Gordon E. Moore

While directing R&D for the Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation, Gordon E. Moore formulated what became known as Moore’s Law, predicting that the price of electronic components would decrease and their numbers would increase by a factor of two every year. He later revised it to every two years; over the past forty years, components have doubled around every eighteen months. Along with Robert Noyce, Moore founded the Intel Corporation in 1967.
