The Friends of Attention

The Friends of Attention are “a nonprofit coalition of collaborators” who share an interest in “attention activism.” Attensity! is a collectively authored work, reflecting six years of collaborative reading, writing, and discussion; D. Graham Burnett, Alyssa Loh, and Peter Schmidt co-edited the volume. D. Graham Burnett is the Henry Charles Lea Professor of the History of Science at Princeton University, and the founder of the nonprofit Institute for Sustained Attention, which he directs. Alyssa Loh, a filmmaker whose work has been supported by Sundance, South by Southwest, the Toronto International Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Institute, co-directed the short film “Twelve Theses on Attention.” Peter Schmidt is the program director of the Strother School of Radical Attention in Brooklyn, which he co-founded.
