Marlene L. Daut

Marlene L. Daut is the author of the prize-winning biography The First and Last King of Haiti: The Rise and Fall of Henry Christophe and Awakening the Ashes: An Intellectual History of the Haitian Revolution, co-winner of the Frederick Douglass Book Prize. Originally from Los Angeles, California, she is currently Chester D. Tripp Professor of Black Studies and French at Yale University.
