Marlene L. Daut is a professor at the University of Virginia and the author of Tropics of Haiti: Race and the Literary History of the Haitian Revolution in the Atlantic World and Baron de Vastey and the Origins of Black Atlantic Humanism. Haitian Revolutionary Fictions: An Anthology, edited by Daut, Grégory Pierrot, and Marion Rohrleitner, will be published by the University of Virginia Press in 2021.
