Roberto Bolaño

(1955 - 2003)

After being informed at age thirty-eight that his liver disease was incurable, Roberto Bolaño wrote a book a year until his death. In his final interview he said, “I would like to have been a homicide detective, much more than being a writer.” His works include The Savage Detectives, 2666, and The Third Reich
