Edward Hoagland

A peripatetic writer, Edward Hoagland served in the “Animal Department” of the Ringling Brothers Circus in the Jim Crow South and graduated from Harvard University in 1954 before extending his investigations across four continents and five oceans. His twenty books, composed over five decades, contain observations of the flora and fauna of Northern New England, Western Canada, and Southern Sudan.
