Jean Froissart

(c. 1337 - c. 1405)

Jean Froissart enjoyed patronage from the House of Plantaganet from 1361 to 1369, writing a thirty-thousand-line Arthurian epic and a poem about a dog talking to a horse. Shortly afterward he began writing his Chronicles, the record of fourteenth-century England and France for which he is best known.
