David Malouf

David Malouf published his seventh novel, Remembering Babylon, in 1993. “The most difficult part,” he said about his parable of colonial relations, “was getting what I wanted without being pretentious or pretending to know something I don’t. No white person here understands the aboriginal world enough to write about it.”
