Dio Cassius

(c. 150 - 235)

A Roman historian writing in Greek, Dio Cassius began his career as a senator, later serving twice as consul. His partially extant Roman History, researched and written over twenty-two years, is now considered one of the best sources for study of the late republic and early empire periods.
