Zvi Kolitz

(1912 - 2002)

While visiting Brazil as an emissary for the World Zionist Congress in 1946, Zvi Kolitz was asked to write an article for a local paper’s Yom Kippur edition; his contribution was a fictional memoir. The Lithuanian-born author had no direct experience with life in the Warsaw Ghetto, but since the work was later reprinted without his name it was for many years considered an authentic document.
