  • I am currently interviewing Carolyn Cassady, the magnetic "Camille" for whom "Dean" makes such callous plans, but to whom he always returned. No matter how tough they talked, both Neal Cassady and Jack Kerouac loved her deeply and depended upon her for the rest of their lives.

She is charming, opinionated, and charismatic, full of humor and anecdotes, and the author of the definitive work behind On the Road, her autobiographical Off the Road: Twenty Years with Kerouac, Cassady, and Ginsberg.

My interview with her goes up on Tuesday, July 14 at http://victoriamixon.com.
